Riemersma Campaign Announces FRC Action PAC Endorsement and Approval Rating From Right To Life PAC

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Today the Riemersma for Congress Campaign is proud to announce that Jay Riemersma has received the Family Research Council Action PAC endorsement, and has received an approval rating from Right to Life PAC. Jay shared the following:

“I’m very thankful to have FRC Action PAC’s endorsement and to meet Right To Life’s criteria. There are few issues more important than promoting a culture of life. Without the basic right to life, as defined in our Declaration of Independence, the other rights and freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution are rendered useless. I believe Roe v. Wade and its companion case, Doe v. Bolton, were wrongly decided and represent a clear violation of the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. However, until these decisions are overturned and constitutional protections again afforded to the unborn, we must work toward the day when all Americans are welcomed in life and protected in law.

“With a majority of Americans now describing themselves as pro-life, I believe we are witnessing the beginning of the end of abortion on demand in our nation. Now is the time to redouble our efforts. We must continue to speak out about the dignity of the unborn, the potential of each life, and share the life affirming alternatives to abortion. We’ve got to stand with Pregnancy Resource Centers and encourage our churches toward acts of compassion for young mothers in need.

“As many people know, I’ve stood up for the unborn, the aged and the infirm throughout my career. I’ve used my platform as a professional athlete, and as an advocate for life and marriage with FRC to champion those issues closest to my heart. I am committed to leading on those same pro-life principles and bringing that same passion to Congress.”
